Policies

PAYMENT

All payments are processed through Shopify. We accept Payal, After Pay, Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and all major credit cards. Your order will not be processed or shipped until your payment has cleared. Sales tax will be added to any purchases being shipped to an Ohio address.

 

REFUNDS

We try to take accurate pictures of all the polishes. Please take into consideration that most photos for our website are taken in a lightbox by a professional swatcher. Computer moniters, tablets, and mobile phones may represent the color differently as well. Please be sure to ask any questions prior to purchase if you are unsure. 

Once the polishes are in your possession, we cannot be responsible nor issue refunds for breakages or spills that are not related to shipping issues. We also cannot be held responsible and will not issue refunds for polishes that are not purchased directly from Top Shelf Lacquer.

The FDA does not regulate expiration dates on nail polish. While scientific research "suggests" 12-24 months, it is up to each individual manufacturer to determine the appropriate date for their polish. While some polishes can last for a very long time, it is also up to the purchaser to make sure that it is stored properly out of sunlight, out of extreme temperatures, and capped tightly after each use. Acetone or nail polish remover should never be used to thin polishes. Thinners containing toluene should also not be used in Top Shelf Lacquer polishes. Since we have no control how you store your polishes once they are in your possession, it is difficult to determine the factors so we have established a general rule. If your Top Shelf Lacquer polish looks to be defective within 12 months of purchase, we will exchange it with the same polish if it is available or issue a store credit for the amount originally paid minus shipping charges. Pigment or glitter settlement is not considered defective. Anything after 12 months is considered outside of what scientific research recommends as an expiration date. Polishes must be purchased directly through Top Shelf Lacquer, photos of damage provided, and not purchased through a third party in order to qualify.  

 

DAMAGES OR INCORRECT ITEMS

US ADDRESSES: If your polish is damaged in the delivery process, you receive an incorrect item, or you feel there is a quality issue with your polish, you must send a picture within 24 hours of delivery to topshelflacquer@gmail.com. You must include your order number and shipping information. In the event, the polish was damaged during shipping, we will replace it with the exact same polish. If we have sent you an incorrect item, we will send you the correct item. If we no longer have the polish ordered in stock, we will issue a refund for the damaged or incorrect item(s).

INTERNATIONAL ADDRESSES: If we have sent you an incorrect item, we will send you the correct item. If we no longer have the polish ordered in stock, we will issue a refund for incorrect item(s) minus shipping charges. If you receive an incorrect item, or you feel there is a quality issue with your polish, you must send a picture within 24 hours of delivery to topshelflacquer@gmail.com.
